From Burnout to Balance: Mastering Boundaries and Resilience

2 hour workshop – Members go FREE. Non members: Early Bird £58, General £78. Supporting others, particularly young people living and studying abroad, can be emotionally demanding, triggering, and often, overwhelming leading to burnout. In the midst of managing student needs, it’s easy for staff to sideline their own well-being, which can lead to burnout, anxiety, or emotional fatigue. This two-hour workshop, equips education professionals with practical tools to care for themselves while continuing to support others. Through grounding exercises, boundary-setting strategies, emotional regulation techniques, and a deeper understanding of vicarious trauma, projection, and stress responses, participants will build the awareness and resilience necessary to stay steady, present, and effective in the face of daily challenges.

Supporting Students in Crisis: A mindhamok Forum for Faculty Led Programs

1 hour forum – FREE for all, limited tickets. An open conversation on how faculty and program leads can respond with care, clarity, and confidence when a student faces a mental health or behavioural crisis while abroad. 'Supporting Students in Crisis: A mindhamok Forum for Faculty Led Programs' is designed as a safe, supportive space to share real experiences, explore what works, and learn from one another. Together, we’ll look at how to support students who experience anxiety, depression, or self-harm risk, and how to respond when someone discloses suicidal thoughts, sexual assault, or substance-related incidents. We’ll also think about the wider impact on the group, including how to communicate without creating panic, recognise peers who may be affected, and support those who naturally step into helper roles. The forum will invite honest discussion about where our duty of care begins and ends, how to set boundaries with compassion, and how to protect both student and staff wellbeing. Your voice matters. By sharing insights, challenges, and practical strategies, we can build a stronger collective approach to supporting Students in Crisis and staff in moments that truly test us.

Navigating Self Care Whilst Caring for Others in Crisis

Often the most challenging part of supporting someone in crisis (or working in a highly stressful environment) is being able to take care of yourself in the process. Dealing with people in crisis can be triggering, exhausting and emotionally overwhelming. Our own self-care can take a 'back burner' in the priority of things to do leading to burnout, anxiety and depression.
