Neurodiversity in Education: Part 1 – Autism

1 hour workshop – Members go FREE. Non members: Early Bird £38, General £48. Supporting neurodivergent students while they study internationally can feel complex, especially when students are navigating new cultures, routines, and work or academic expectations. Autism and ADHD may shape how students experience change, stress, communication, and support, and these challenges are not always immediately visible. Join us for a reflective, practical session designed for staff supporting students overseas. We will explore how autism and ADHD can show up in international education settings, what signs may indicate a student is struggling, and how small, thoughtful adjustments can make a meaningful difference. This session is all about feeling informed, confident, and supported. You will leave with practical strategies, clearer understanding, and the reassurance that mindhamok is there to support you and your students.

Navigating Self Care Whilst Caring for Others in Crisis

Often the most challenging part of supporting someone in crisis (or working in a highly stressful environment) is being able to take care of yourself in the process. Dealing with people in crisis can be triggering, exhausting and emotionally overwhelming. Our own self-care can take a 'back burner' in the priority of things to do leading to burnout, anxiety and depression.

Trauma Informed Practice

The word trauma has been given much attention in recent years. In the positive, it has allowed people to speak about deeper psychological woundings they have experienced or worked with. With the increased awareness what we have also learned is that trauma is deeply personal. The goal of trauma informed practice is to recognise and understand the pain but most importantly think about how we can make the shared context safe for more students. This workshop aims to support staff to think about how they can create a safe environment for learning for all participants.
