mindhamok mental health study abroad

About mindhamok

About mindhamok

We exist to make prevention-first mental health care the standard for international students, study abroad teams, travellers and the organisations that support them. Not a bolt-on. Not a crisis line sitting idle. A purpose-built solution that prepares students and staff before challenges arise and is there to support them when they do.

Our story

A gap we couldn't ignore.

Founded September 2020.

International students and the staff who support them were underserved by existing mental health systems. Time zones, language barriers, cultural fit, insurance complexity. Each one adding distance between a young person abroad and the support they needed.

mindhamok was founded in September 2020, developed alongside clinicians and international education specialists with decades of experience inside study abroad programs, universities and insurers. We had seen the same crisis calls, the same delays, the same families trying to navigate care from thousands of miles away.

We built mindhamok to change that. By putting prevention first, equipping staff with the training and support they need, and ensuring that professional help is accessible to anyone, anywhere, without delay.

Our mission

To help people all over the globe better understand their health and wellbeing, and to make prevention-first mental health support the standard for every student, traveller and professional living, studying or working abroad.

Our vision

For mindhamok to be synonymous with the wellbeing of people everywhere. A world where crossing borders never means losing access to care, and where wellbeing is a given, not an afterthought.

What makes us different

Built specifically for international education & travel

01

Prevention first

Education and early intervention woven into your program from the start, not a reactive service waiting for things to go wrong.

02

International education & travel specialism

Every clinician and trainer we work with understands the specific pressures of studying, travelling and working abroad. No generic solutions. No guesswork.

03

Staff professional development

Workshops, coaching and Reflective Space sessions for the people doing the supporting. Because investing in staff capability and wellbeing is just as important as the students they serve.

04

Human-first technology

We use technology to simplify access to care and remove barriers, while keeping human connection at the centre of every support experience.
